An animal's status can come up for review on its own day.

Feature requests

  • A review date on an animal's status: each status can have its number of days in Settings, set again whenever the status changes, or chosen on the record. On the day it is in the Inbox with In 7 days, and fosters see the reviews due for their animals in their daily email.
  • Why an animal was euthanized or died: up to two euthanasia reasons and one cause of death, given with the status from your own lists in Settings, which start with ours. Your rescue can make one required, and the operations report counts each reason.
  • Donors can now give every month from your donation form or a campaign page. Each monthly receipt carries a link to change the amount or the card, or to stop, and staff can see and stop a monthly gift on the donor's record.
  • Note types and text templates: file an animal's notes as Behavior, Medical, Adoption, Kennel card and website, Foster or types of your own, and filter by them. Templates in Settings start a note or a medical record's notes with your usual words in one click.
  • A controlled-drug log: your drugs and each bottle received, every dose, waste, destruction and count with who and a witness, a running balance per bottle, and the log and an inventory to print and sign. Your rescue can ask for the dose before a euthanasia outcome.

Enhancements

  • To see which parts of RescueConsole are used, the app now sends PostHog the pages opened and the clicks, with the words hidden, and masked session recordings. People are known only by an ID. The privacy policy has the details.

The demo's animals have photos.

Feature requests

  • A rescue can save its own Pettable referral link and Lemonade partner link in Settings, Payments. Adopters see each one on the page after paying the adoption fee and in the adoption receipt email, with a line saying the rescue may receive a reward when they are used.
  • A handling level says who may handle an animal: Green for anyone, Yellow for trained volunteers, Red for staff only, in your own names and colors. It is changed with a reason, shows on the record, kennel page, housing board and Rounds, and volunteers are offered only animals they may handle.
  • A bite can be recorded on an animal's Behavior tab like Florida's bite report, the person bitten seen only by staff who can change animals. A dog, cat or ferret's bite starts a 10-day quarantine that keeps it off the website, sets check tasks and is released by name. Reports, Bites counts them.
  • Intake now asks whether an animal has bitten a person or an animal. Every contract for an animal with a known bite carries its history for the signer to acknowledge, and a written disclosure can be recorded for other releases. Settings picks California, New York or Virginia's rule.
  • Find volunteers on a shift that needs people opens that shift and lists every volunteer who could take a place, with how to reach them. Ask them sends each the shift and a sign-up link by their own settings for shift news, and nobody is asked twice.
  • Adoption follow-ups can be an email as well as a task: choose one of your templates, and on its day it goes to the adopter filled with the animal who went home. The adoption lists each follow-up email and what became of it.
  • Foster and surrender agreements can be sent to sign from home, as an adoption contract is: choose the agreement on the foster assignment or the intake, and the foster carer or the owner reads and signs it on your site. The signed copy is kept with the record.
  • Behavior plans: start one on an animal from your library or from scratch, with a goal, phases, how success is measured, a lead and a review every so many days. Each review is a task on the animal, a follow-up records progress and what next, and Close completes it. Nine common plans are offered.
  • Assessments: set up short ones in Settings, each answer with a score, and do them on an animal as often as wanted. Each scored question is drawn as a line on the record. Fear, arousal, cat stress and compatibility are offered, and compatibility fills Good with dogs, cats and children.
  • Playgroups and enrichment: record a playgroup with its lead and handlers, each dog rated green, yellow or red and who it played with, and log walks, play, training, puzzles and time out. The Housing board and Rounds show each animal's last time out, a dog walk ticked on a shift included.
  • The behavior desk: holds, incidents to review, quarantines and their next check, plans due, animals not out today and open case reviews, counted by species. A case review records named sign-offs, and Proceed only after enough agree and the animal has been in care the days you set.
  • Ask for a behavior check: from an animal's Behavior tab, or a volunteer's kennel page on a shift, with a reason from your list. It waits on the Behavior desk and in the Inbox until it is closed with what was found.
  • Guest checkouts: a link for an adoption day, a pet store or a foster home, with its animals and an optional access code. Whoever is there picks the animal and enters the adopter, who is emailed the contract to sign and the fee to pay. It closes on its last day with a summary.

Enhancements

  • Every animal in the demo now has a photo of its own, so its animal pages, lists and public website look the way a rescue's do. They are free-to-use photos from Unsplash, put back with the rest of the demo each night.
  • An animal's handling level now colors a band behind its name at the top of the record, and the Animals list has a Handling column and a Handling level filter, with None chosen for animals without one.
  • One handling level can be the default in Settings, given to every new animal with a note in its history, and given once to every animal that has none.
  • Each item in the Inbox now says how long it has waited, Waiting for 3 days or Waiting for 2 months, with the exact time on hover.
  • Litters now lists the litters with an animal still in care, with how many are still in care, and Show every litter for the rest. Deleted animals are no longer counted in a litter.
  • Observation choices now fit the animal: a dog is offered words for dogs and a cat words for cats, and each of your behavior traits can be set to the species it applies to under Settings, Behavior. What was recorded before stays as written.
  • Mail now lists email and website chats, and the new Phone page under Inbox lists texts, WhatsApp messages, voicemails and calls to return, each marked by kind, with the call log at the top of it.
  • National reporting no longer asks how many animals were in your care. The count at the start of every month is worked out from the record of status changes, or before it from each animal's arrivals and outcomes.
  • The demo now has all six starter forms, so Settings, Forms offers nothing more to add.
  • The rescue's other phones are now kept as people's are: an application's co-applicant, landlord and vet, organizations, transport contacts, guests, lost and found reports, counter sales and bites. A number that does not fit is refused with words, and those already stored are fixed where they parse.

Bug fixes

  • Waiting now lists only what is behind: tasks, medical care and documents due today or overdue. Anything still to come stays on Today and the Tasks list until its day.
  • A voicemail or file that cannot be opened now says why, such as a demo voicemail that keeps only its words, instead of Request failed with status 404.
  • A confirmed form submission with nothing made from it yet says when it was confirmed and offers Add to People, instead of saying nobody was asked to confirm. The demo's new submissions now wait for their sender to confirm, as a real one does.
  • Thank on a gift opens your thank-you template, on the demo too, and a rescue without one can add the standard thank-you from Compose in one press instead of going to Templates.
  • An animal with no adoption fee of its own is now charged what your fee rules give it, as the adoption form showed, instead of nothing. A fee on the animal overrides the rules, and the form says which applies.
