Adopting, from the first click to the receipt.

Feature requests

  • Approving an application can email the applicant, with a message to read and change first, and invite them to My portal, where they follow their application, adoption, contract and receipt. Both are ticked to start with.
  • The adoption contract can be sent to the adopter to sign from home. They read it on your site, type their name and sign, and that records the adoption as signing in person does. The Adoption card shows it waiting, with Send it again and Cancel it, and the bell says when it is signed.
  • Signed from home with a card payment, the signing page goes straight on to paying the fee. And Pay online on an adoption can email the payment link to the adopter, as well as make one to copy.
  • Finalizing an adoption can email your receipt to the adopter: the receipt number, the animal, the fee, any donation and what was paid. It is ticked to start with, and the finalized adoption can send it again.
  • Forms ask the address in six parts, street, unit, city, state, ZIP and country, as the person record keeps it. A form that asked Address as one box now asks the six parts in its place.
  • A form question can be asked only when a yes/no question is answered Yes: Ask only when, in the form editor. An adoption form asks the co-applicant questions only when Is anybody applying with you? is Yes, so somebody applying alone is never asked for a co-applicant.
  • Adoption and foster forms can ask what the application keeps: renting and the landlord, the adults and children at home, whether everyone agrees, pets now and before, hours alone and the vet. The answers go straight onto the application, and the landlord is asked about only when they rent.

Enhancements

  • An animal's page on your website has Apply to adopt (and Apply to foster), opening your application with that animal already ticked. The standard forms now ask for an email, and the adoption and foster applications which animals; a form missing either says so.
  • Adoption counselors and foster coordinators can search the Public Registry when screening an applicant. The standard Reviewing an adoption application checklist starts by itself on each new application.
  • Which animals are you asking about? is a picker on your site: type a name, species or breed to find an animal, add it, and remove it again. It offers up to 1,000 animals, in a list that scrolls rather than a page of tick boxes.
  • Your own custom fields for adoption applications now show on the application’s Answers tab, under Additional fields, and adoption and foster forms can ask them, so the applicant answers them and the application starts with what they said.
  • The standard adoption and foster applications now ask everything the application keeps, in its sections, with follow-up questions asked only when they apply. A form already running gains Add the application’s questions, which adds whichever are missing and changes nothing else.
  • An application’s Answers tab now shows the answers your adoption or foster form asks, and any others the application has, instead of a row for every answer it could hold. Edit answers still offers every question.

Bug fixes

  • A yes/no question on your own site, such as Fenced yard, offered only Yes, so a required one could only be answered yes. It now offers Yes and No, as the widget does.
  • Cards in Submissions showed each answer under its field key, which ran over the answer, and the animals with no link. They now show each answer under its question in the form’s order, and the animals as links to their records.
  • A phone written (555) 123-4567 on a form was refused as not a phone, which stopped Add to People with no way on. Any phone with seven to fifteen digits is taken now; the form says which answer is wrong as it is sent; and staff can Correct an answer on a submission, with what was sent kept beside it.
  • An application made from your form now starts with the form’s answers: the co-applicant, the home type, the fenced yard and the pets. Applications already made from a form were filled in from it, and the rest of what the form asked shows under More from the form.
  • An application’s answers can be changed where they are read: Edit answers on the Answers card. A decided application’s answers can still be corrected, and its decision stays as it was.
  • A browser phone that lost its connection, as a phone’s browser does when it sleeps, showed a red ConnectionError (31005) that stayed until a reload. It now says it is reconnecting, goes away when the phone is back, can be closed, and reconnects when the page is opened again.

Signing in as one role offers your roles, and only your roles.

Feature requests

  • A surrender request is answered on its page: accepted, waitlisted or declined, with a note. Accepting adds the animal with its owner-surrender intake; one your rescue adopted out is recognized by its microchip or its adopter, and taken back as a return instead of a second record.
  • Settings, Shared surrender requests: choose to receive the surrender requests other rescues share, from your partners or from any rescue, for the ZIP codes you list or within a radius of your primary location, and for the species you take in. Nothing is received until you switch it on.
  • A surrender request you cannot take can be shared with your partners or with all rescues, when the person agreed on the form. The rescues it matches see it under Animals, Shared surrenders; the first to take it gets it in its own Submissions, with the person's details.
  • When a surrender request at another rescue carries the microchip of an animal you adopted out, you are told, with the rescue that has it. If that request is shared, only you see it for 24 hours, marked Adopted from you, before other rescues do.

Enhancements

  • Signing in as one role no longer offers All my roles, which showed the console without your portal pages. Choose any one of your roles instead; a staff role keeps the page you were going to, and a portal role opens its own pages.

Notes during a call, chat visitors who step away, and signing in as one of your roles.

Feature requests

  • Somebody with more than one role, counting the roles on their own People record, chooses which one to sign in as, or all of them, and can have the choice remembered. Signed in as, in the My account menu, switches at any time; a portal role shows that portal's own pages.

Enhancements

  • While a call is on in the browser phone, write the note, say who is calling and link the people, organizations and animals it is about. When the call ends, all of it is already there.

Bug fixes

  • A website chat visitor who switches apps or locks their phone counts as gone straight away, so a reply goes to their email or text.

Website chat replies reach visitors who have left.

Bug fixes

  • A reply in a website chat after the visitor has left reaches them by email, or by text when they left only a number, instead of a chat window nobody is looking at.

Phone, text and website chat, through your organization's own Twilio account.

Feature requests

  • Connect your organization's own Twilio account under Settings, Phone and text. Choose the rescue's number, and the page reads back from Twilio what is left to do, such as registering for texting.
  • Calls to a queue ring everybody answering it at once: in the browser, on their own mobile (pressing 1 to take it) or on a SIP phone, with opening hours, voicemail when nobody answers, and a way to ask to be called back.
  • Each person with an extension sets how calls reach them under My phone: every way at once, the browser first and then the mobile, or only the mobile. Away or Off sends calls to their own voicemail.
  • A phone menu: a greeting, choices to press or say, opening hours, English and Spanish, and recorded greetings, in any English or Spanish voice Twilio has. Each spare number can have a menu of its own.
  • Voicemail for each queue, in its inbox, and a private box for each person on My voicemail, written out word for word. Forward a message to another extension, or email it with the recording attached.
  • The call log keeps every call: who called, named from your people and organizations or Twilio's caller name lookup, the way through the menu, who answered, notes, and the people, organizations and animals it was about.
  • Calls to a queue can be recorded, with pause and resume during the call, and each recording is written out with who said what.
  • Texts and WhatsApp messages to the rescue's number arrive as conversations in your inbox, answered from there. US carriers block texts until the number is registered, which Phone and text walks you through.
  • An extension can call out from the browser, showing the rescue's number, with 911 going out from the extension's own number and address.
  • Website chat, answered from the same queues: a chat button on your website, a New chat alert for whoever is answering, automatic answers by keyword, and replies by email or text once the visitor has left.
  • Available, Away and Off, and My voicemail, are in the account menu, and an admin can change a team member's status for somebody who forgot.
