A silent auction from the first bid to what it raised, campaigns with funds and appeals, gifts given in memory of somebody, and a mark on the record when another rescue has flagged the person in front of you.

Feature requests

  • Run a silent auction: the lots, the bidding at the desk and on your own site, closing it, and what the night raised.
  • Campaigns with funds and appeals, and a campaign page that looks like something.
  • In honour of, in memory of: record who a gift was given for, and tell the person you were asked to tell.
  • When another rescue files a safety flag, the rescues who already have that person on file are told, and a mark appears on the record itself.
  • A cage card that carries your own fields, with the QR code in the corner you choose.
  • What each API key has been doing, and what went wrong, on the page you manage it from.
  • A person holds as many roles as they do: adopter, foster, volunteer and donor at once.
  • A volunteer application is an application: one place for every kind, and one trigger that can ask which kind it was.
  • Application stages and the ID format have their own addresses in Settings, so you can link somebody straight to them.
  • See whether a subdomain is free while you type it, instead of after you press the button.
  • A form somebody fills in on your public site makes nothing until their email address confirms it, and a page asks them whether it was them.

Enhancements

  • Where a plan is not charged, the page says so rather than showing a lonely $0.
  • Say who and what a submission or a conversation is about, with the pickers the rest of the app uses.
  • An integration links to our own instructions for it, not to somewhere you have to go looking.
  • The address fields are labelled the way the post office labels them.
  • Merging two people says what it will do with a lot bought at an auction.

Bug fixes

  • A flag kept private stays with the rescue that filed it.
  • A merge finds a person it could not see before.
  • A pasted email signature keeps its logo, and says everything once.
  • A signature with no table in it no longer collapses into one line.
  • The PetSmart Charities card is the size PetSmart says it is.
  • A page on your public site cannot be filed underneath itself.
  • The cage card says what it means, and what sits under it lines up.

An adopter who closed the tab still hears what they need to do.

Feature requests

  • After an adoption is paid for online, the adopter now gets one email a day later about anything only they can do: registering a microchip with a registry that will take it from nobody but the owner, or a Petco Love Lost registration they did not finish.
  • A checklist can start when an animal’s status changes. Every other starting event is a moment RescueConsole knows about; your statuses are your own words, so this one starts whenever a status moves and you narrow it with a condition: only when it becomes Available, say.
  • Refund a card payment from the adoption instead of the Stripe dashboard, and see a refund you made in Stripe on the ledger either way.

Enhancements

  • The follow-up email is sent only when something is still outstanding: somebody who has already registered is not written to, and if nothing is left, none goes at all. It goes out through your messages, so anyone who has asked not to hear from you still does not.
  • Turn the follow-up email off under Settings, Finance & adoption, Payments if you would rather write your own. It is on to begin with, because the adopter it is for is the one who closed the page and cannot find it again.
  • A condition can also ask where the animal is, offering your own locations and the units inside them by name, so a cat intake in isolation and a dog intake in the kennels can be different checklists. It remembers the place, not its name, so renaming a room changes nothing.
  • Add a picture to a bug report, so the page you are describing comes with it.

A long form can be built in sections and shown a tab at a time.

Feature requests

  • A form can be built in sections. Give a question a heading, and every question with that heading is one section, drawn where the first of them sits. Nothing to create and nothing to delete: a section exists while a question names it.
  • Choose how a visitor sees it: the whole form on one page with a heading over each part, or one tab per section, with a bar saying how much is done and no way on to a later tab until the one they are on is filled in correctly. Going back is always free.
  • RescueConsole now tells you when an animal's microchip is registered with a company that has shut down. Save This Life closed and its database was disconnected, so those chips still read and the number leads nowhere. Nobody was ever told.
  • Some microchip registries will only take a registration from the animal’s owner. Where that is how the registry works, the page an adopter sees after paying online now tells them where to go and gives them the chip number, and the record tells your team to mention it before the adopter leaves.

Enhancements

  • The form editor offers the heading your record already uses for each question, and applies it to the whole form in one press, leaving alone anything you have named yourself.
  • The animals affected are named on your animals list so you can work through them, and each record says what to do. There is no bulk transfer available from anybody, so it is one animal at a time: look the number up and register it again.
  • A registry that merely changed hands is told apart from one that closed. Found Animals chips still work under 24Petwatch, so that reads as a note on the record rather than an alarm, and the animals list is not interrupted for it.
  • The Adopt-a-Pet help page now covers the link back to your own page, and the three settings worth checking in their Shelter Zone: your web site, your donation link and your online adoption application link. Adopt-a-Pet write to you when a send gives them trouble, not after every one.

Bug fixes

  • The microchip registry suggestions no longer offer Save This Life, which has closed. Anything you have already recorded is untouched.
